FY 2007/08 ANNUAL REPORT
- The Executive and Committee of Long Reef Surf Club are pleased to present you with the FY 2007/08 Annual Report.AUSTRALIAN SURF LIFE SAVING CHAMPIONSHIPS 2008 (WA)
Long Reef SLSC had its most successful Australian Championships in club history winning 2 open and 1 masters medal at Scarborough Beach, Western Australia.
Gold Surf Boat Race; Ross Jenkins, David Sams, Peter Kinsey, Mal McCormack & Bruce Gaal (s)
Silver U19 Champion Lifesaver – Shane Stewart
Silver Open Patrol Competition – Doug Lucas (c), Kristie Thomas, Stella Watson, Shane Stewart, Dan Mumford and Thomas Rees
Other finalists included:
Nathan Gibson 4th U19 Male Surf Board Riding,
Stella Watson 5th U19 Female Champion Lifesaver,
Doug Lucas 6th Open Male Champion Lifesaver,
Nick Warby 6th Open Champion Lifesaver.
Special thanks also to 5 Long Reef SLSC club members who officiated for several days at the Australian Championships including: Kristie Thomas, Lachlan Gadd, Mark Nisbet, Doug Lucas and Tom Rees. Without these and other officials it would not be possible to hold such competitions.
Such events always cost substantial amounts of money and Long Reef SLSC thank Winning Appliances who sponsored the Long Reef SLSC Lifesaving team and Long Reef SLSC this season. Without their support the teams overall success would not have been possible.
